TACSIDI 2.0Programme
Interreg IPA Adrion (2nd call for proposals)
Description
TACSIDI2.0 – Transregional Cluster for Accessible and Sustainable Tourism through Digital Innovation is a strategic response to one of the Adriatic-Ionian region’s most pressing challenges: transforming tourism into a driver of sustainability, inclusion, and innovation. Inspired by the Greek word "taxidi" (travel), the project unites regions around a shared vision: making tourism smarter, greener, and accessible to all.
The ADRION area is rich in natural and cultural assets, yet it faces fragmented efforts, ageing infrastructure, and low levels of digitalisation. At the same time, demographic trends are reshaping tourism demand. By 2050, one in six Europeans will be over 65, and already today, people over 55 represent one-third of the population. This ageing segment is not a burden—but a high-potential market waiting to be unlocked.
TACSIDI2.0 embraces this opportunity. It brings together public authorities, SMEs, academia, and civil society in a powerful cross-border meta-cluster that positions accessibility as a key lever for competitiveness. The project will co-develop a Regional Sustainability and Accessibility Index, a Smart Data Dashboard, a Joint Strategy for Inclusive Tourism Development, and a Tailored Capacity-Building Programme.
A Digital Collaboration Platform will enable seamless cooperation, data sharing, and joint action across borders. TACSIDI2.0 is not just about innovation—it’s about impact. It establishes a shared governance model that empowers ADRION territories to work together, raise standards, and deliver high-quality, year-round tourism experiences.
By aligning with EU frameworks such as the European Accessibility Act and the Strategy for Sustainable Tourism, the project ensures policy relevance, market readiness, and long-term resilience. This is a unique opportunity to turn a territorial challenge into a regional success story.
