The CROSS-RE-TOUR project envisages a comprehensive redesign of the Green Karst destination's digital presence through the development of the innovative www.zelenikras.si portal. The portal will bring together all tourism providers in the region and integrate an advanced booking system. Its main objective is to support the digital transformation of the destination while promoting sustainable tourism.

The portal will showcase the region's comprehensive tourism offer, including nature-based experiences, culinary experiences, and outdoor activities. The advanced booking system will enable visitors to plan their trips easily while encouraging local providers – such as restaurants, tourist farms, traditional inns, museums, and providers of cultural, sports, and other activities – to adopt the Green Karst brand standards and implement sustainable practices.

The redesigned platform will include modules presenting tourism offers with integrated booking options, covering accommodation providers, activities, and pre-designed experience packages. One of the project's key innovations is an AI-powered assistant that will answer visitors' questions and recommend sustainable accommodation and tourism experiences tailored to their preferences.

The portal will give priority to sustainable tourism offers by introducing interactive map filters that will enable visitors to easily find sustainable options and personalise their search according to their interests. Particular emphasis will be placed on gastronomy, as local cuisine is often one of the main reasons travellers choose a destination. The portal will highlight providers that apply sustainable food practices and connect them with experiences such as culinary workshops and food tastings.

The expected project results include increasing the destination's digital visibility, strengthening cooperation between local tourism providers and visitors, and encouraging more sustainable visitor behaviour. Through the new portal, the destination will gain a modern, user-friendly digital tool that will contribute to its long-term sustainable development and create added value for the local community.
