Human resources

Human resources are among the most important resources in the Primorsko-notranjska Region. Activation, social cohesion and participation of the population as a whole is one of the key goals that we believe will contribute to the quality of life in the region as well as the competitiveness of the regional economy. The latter is also manifested in the current Regional Development Programme of the Primorsko-notranjska Region 2014-2020 which lists, among other priorities, the “Inclusive society and the promotion of development potential of regional human resources”.

The Primorsko-notranjska Region recognises the potential of human resources in relation to promoting the economy’s competitiveness and, at the same time, human resources in the region represent an important stakeholder which has been slightly underemphasised in the current programming period. As part of this development priority, we will encourage further investments into human resources, which will be focused on promoting human resources on the job market during their employment as well as outside of it (e.g. lifelong learning, intergenerational cooperation, etc.). Investments within this priority will also contribute to resolving wider social issues that have a direct impact on the well-being and the quality of life in the region. These include the mobility of the population, its health and activities, a quality ageing process and other social challenges. We will also encourage initiatives that ensure a high level of well-being in the region, personal and professional development of human resources, and a healthy and active population of the Primorsko-notranjska Region.

Within the Regional Development Programme of the Primorsko-notranjska Region 2014-2020, two programmes are assigned to the development of human resources: (1) programme for human resources and (2) programme for the wider development of society. Together, they highlight six key measures:

  • education, training and life-long learning,
  • employing the work force,
  • the job market,
  • social inclusion and equal opportunities,
  • maintaining and improving the health of the population of the Primorsko-notranjska Region,
  • culture and cultural heritage.
